What a great trip we had in Beijing with Elysian Tour. We booked a 3-day private no-shopping tour. Our travel consultant Johnson coordinated all of the details of the trip. Patient and efficient, he always replied my emails promptly, sooner than 12 hours as advertised. Our guide Stephen met us at the capital airport in the early morning, and he was great, with a real passion for his work. He showed us around to sightsee a number of fantastic sites, like the resplendent Forbidden City, iconic Great Wall and serene Summer Palace. He shared a wealth of information that we would never have learned from the guidebooks. We loved our hutong experience of a vintage rickshaw ride and a facial mask painting class. At the Temple of Heaven, we saw how local Beijingers did their morning exercises, and we even learned several moves of Taichi from the friendly locals, which was great fun. Stephen exactly knew what we wanted so he gave us some free time to explore things on our own, which was also the beauty of the private tour. We were so lucky to have him and would request him to be our guide if we ever come back to Beijing. Thank you all for making our time in China wonderful and memorable.
