Hainan Adopts 30 Days Visa-free Policy to Tourists of 59 Countries





Hainan Province offers an eased visa-free policy for travelers from 59 countries with a prolonged stay of 30 days since May 1st, 2018, in response to driving the reform and opening up of South China.
In the past two decades, Hainan has adopted a 15-day visa free access to group tourists from 21 countries in 2000, and increased up to 26 countries in 2010. Three big changes of the visa-free policy are made now to encourage the inbound tourism industry of Hainan. Firstly, the policy benefits more countries with an increase from 26 to 59 including the United States, Britain, France, Germany and Australia. Besides, the visa-free stay period is much prolonged, from 15-21 days to 30 days, a month or so. Furthermore, the eased policy is applicable for both individual and group tourists to stay in Hainan for up to 30 days on condition that they book the tour package through travel agencies registered in Hainan Province and approved by the China National Tourism Administration.

United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Norway, Ukraine, Italy, Austria, Finland, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Monaco, Belarus, UAE, and Qatar.
Tourists entering Hainan Island with visa-free policy cannot make extended tour to Mainland China, and they have to land Hainan from the third country and district instead of any city of Mainland China. People getting entry from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan could also enjoy this visa free policy.
