
Enjoy this time-smart one day discovery of China's ancient capital Xi'an with return flights from Shanghai. Admire the renowned world wonder of Terracotta Army along with the city's two highlights of the most complete City Wall and featured Great Mosque in the bustling Muslim Quarter.
You will catch a morning flight to Xi'an. Upon arrival after about your 2-hour flight, you will be picked up by your friendly local guide.
You will first visit the ancient City Wall that remains intact after successfully guarding the old city for almost 600 years. Follow your guide to learn about the defensive system and the smartly built gate towers as well as ramparts on top. Enjoy a panoramic view of the old city and the peaceful moat running around.
Then you will walk through the bustling Muslim Quarter to explore the Great Mosque, built in Chinese style with four courtyards and nice gardens. Still in practice, you might encounter local Muslim men come to pray.
Lunch will be recommended by your local guide based on your requirements of time of eating and preferences.
Next, you will be transferred to see the long-expected Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. Built to guard the tomb of Shihuang Emperor in his next life, the first emperor of China, the life-sized soldiers have been buried underground with their mission for over 2,000 years now. You will walk through the 3 pits to admire the perfectly designed army in their specially arranged battle formation. Appreciate the fine craftwork and be amazed by the real size soldiers, each owning unique facial expression, figure, hair style and costume. Learn from your tour guide about the disappeared colors originally painted on the warriors and more mysteries.
Afterwards, your Xi'an highlights exploration ends and you will be transferred to the airport to fly back to Shanghai.
