Welcome to Chengdu! Upon arrival, your friendly English-speaking tour guide holding a welcome sign with your name will meet you at the arrival halls of airport and then transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, you may explore Chengdu on your own to discover something different to your hometown. 

After the morning pick up at your Chengdu hotel, follow your guide to discover the secret to the "Land of Abundance" as you are travelled to Dujiangyan Irrigation System. Torrential rainstorms had constantly plagued Dujiangyan in summer until the Irrigation System was constructed in 256 BC. Its successful control of water without dams has contributed greatly to the land for more than 2,200 years, making it a great marvel of water conservancy in the world. 

Then head straight to Wolong National Nature Reserve for about 90-minuite driving. After a simple lunch and a short rest, hold a breath to hike about 5km (3miles) in Dengsheng Gorge where many endangered wild giant pandas inhabit. Enjoy a delightful hike through the unspoiled beauties of lush woodlands and murmuring streams, and if you are lucky enough, you might be able to find the panda's wastes and footprints. Get your cameras ready to capture the enchanting view and traces of giant pandas along the way.

Afterwards, relax yourself as you are driven to Wolong Giant Panda Museum where you can get deep insight of the endangered species in different aspects from their living environments, development, habits to breeding and achievements of panda protection. Then you will be transferred back to your hotel at Gengda County located at Wolong National Nature Reserve for a rest.

The whole day is left on you to enjoy the encounters with giant pandas at Wolong Panda Research Center where more than 60 giant pandas live. Upon arrival, you are given the chance to see cuddly pandas who nibble bamboos, climb trees or take a nap in person. Then you will start working as a Panda Keeper including cleaning the enclosures, replacing dried bamboos with fresh ones, making your own panda cakes and hand feeding pandas under the guidance of the professional giant panda keeper. In addition, a panda-themed documentary movie is arranged for you in the afternoon, which enables you to learn more about the giant pandas like know how to protect and take care of them for better conservation. Before saying good bye to those chubby pandas, you will be awarded with an honorable panda keeper certificate to memorize your special time with them. Then sit back and drive back to your hotel at Chengdu.

2. Volunteers from 12 to 65 years of age are fit for the Panda Keeper Program.
3. Physical Examination Record of each volunteer is required.
4. If you want to take a photo with pandas, please contact our travel specialist in advance.
5. Volunteers are not permitted to get too close encounters with pandas without the direction of the professional panda keepers.
6. Dress codes: Short pants or slippers are not allowed inside.

Apart from giant pandas, the bustling Jinli Old Street and the picturesque Wangjiang Pavilion Park are scheduled for you to explore the authentic sense of Chengdu life. Morning sightseeing starts with a visit to more than 2,000-year-old Jinli Old Street full of yummy local food, folk handicrafts and panda-themed souvenirs, which is very much alluring to the foodies. You may indulge in the beauties of traditional architectural complexes and aroma of various street food while strolling around. Depart from the food alley, then feel the slow-paced lifestyle of Chengdu as you enjoy the encounters with the locals in the lively Wangjiang Pavilion Park. Morning exercises like Taichi and group dance are sure to impress you and you may join the hospital locals to experience their leisure life. Or you will stop for a cup of tea to enjoy the picturesque sceneries of the lush bamboo groves and the tranquil Jin River before your eyes. Then your 4-day panda tour comes to a perfect end and you will be escorted to the airport for your departure flight by your guide and driver.
