Welcome to Shanghai! Upon arrival, your will be greeted by your tour guide holding a name sign at the airport/railway station and escorted to your hotel. Then enjoy a free day and explore a bit on your own.
Today, you will first spend some leisure time exploring Yu Garden, located in Shanghai's old blocks. Well preserved with ingenious designs and harmonious layout, it has enjoyed a history of more than 400 years. Step forward and admire the classical landscape art treasured in the tranquil oasis.
Next, stroll along the bustling Nanjing Road followed by a promenade at the Bund, proclaimed as "World Architecture Museum". The exotic and varied architectural complexes alongside stand as a reminder of the old Shanghai over the past hundred years.
Then you will ascend Shanghai World Financial Center, the 2nd tallest skyscraper in China. With an impressive height of 474 meters (1,555 ft), it affords you the most amazing panoramic view of the whole city.
Continue your trip to Xintiandi (New World of Shanghai), where rows of Shikumen buildings take you to be impressed by the old Shanghai vibe.
Your last stop is the tranquil Jade Buddha, home to the largest Reclining Jade Buddha statue imported from Burma in 1882.
Then sit back and you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Today you will first travel to Tongli to absorb picturesque scene of water town for about 1.5 hours' drive. By the riverside stand rows of quaint houses with tiled roofs and white walls for nearly a thousand years. The old alleys and arched bridges make you as if traveling back in time. Step into Tuisi Garden, a World Heritage-listed spot famed for the compact layout and artistic design. Stop by the grand Jiayin Hall and Chongben Hall to feast your eyes with exquisite carvings, followed by the iconic Three Bridges to pray for good blessings as the locals do. The superb panoramic views will come into your sights as you take a leisure boat cruise (optional) through the old water town.
Afterwards, you will sight-see Master of the Nets Garden, built as a mirror to secluded life of Chinese fishermen. Listed as World Heritage, it enchants you with its pavilions, rockeries and arched bridges that are harmoniously integrated with natural scenery. Built along the riverside, the long corridor leads you into well-designed courtyards where you may find yourself enjoying the moments of quietness away from the bustle and hustle life of the city.
