Welcome to China! On arrival, you are welcomed by your guide holding your name plate at the exit, then you will be transferred to the hotel for a good rest.

Day 2
Beijing
Visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Explore traditional Hutongs by a rickshaw ride. Learn to paint a facial mask in the Peking Opera at a local Hutong courtyard.
Breakfast

Start your China exploration from admiring the nation's most symbolic constructions as you walk through Tiananmen Square, the world's largest city square. Then travel back to the history of 1420-1912 in the Forbidden City, the quintessence of Chinese ancient imperial palaces. Follow your guide to discover mysteries hidden behind those awe-inspiring architectures, once the residence of 24 emperors,and appreciate those countless national treasures, many of which embody the uppermost human artistry. What's special is that you will delve into more palaces other groups do not go.

Continue to explore common people's houses and customs as you take a rickshaw ride into the lanes of labyrinthine Hutongs. Then enter a courtyard and learn to paint a facial mask of the Peking Opera, which could be a memorable souvenir to bring home.

Day 3
Beijing
Hike on the less crowed Mutianyu Great Wall. Snap some photos of the iconic Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Ramble in the imperial garden Summer Palace.
Breakfast

Today you will have an impressive Great Wall adventure and enjoy a moderate hike on the Mutianyu section, a much quieter and well-maintained part. A round-trip cable car is arranged to save more time for your hike on the wall and appreciate the distinctive watchtowers and boundless natural scenery.

On your way back to the city, make a stopover near the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, and snap some photos of the new landmarks with abstract and elegant design.

Then visit the Summer Palace, a 290-hectare imperial garden in which lakes, hills and palace buildings are harmonized with each other. Wander in this landscape masterpiece to discover the extremely exquisite gallery, halls, gardens, bridges and antiques.

Day 4
Beijing-Xian by High Speed Train
Visit the Temple of Heaven. Take a 4.5-hour highspeed train to Xi'an.

In the morning, tour the Temple of Heaven, the largest and most sacred sacrificial altar for emperors to worship the heaven, serving for five centuries from 1368 to 1911 in ancient China. As one of the best symbolic illustrations of Chinese cosmology, it is an architectural masterpiece of distinctive compactness and exquisiteness. Another highlight here is that you will encounter the locals playing diabolo, Tai Chi, martial arts or other traditional exercises, and you are more than welcome to join them.

Afterwards, head to the highspeed railway station for a 4.5-hour comfortable trip to Xi'an, another great antient capital of China. When you arrive, meet your local guide and travel back to your hotel.

Day 5
Xian
Marvel at the Terracotta Army and the ancient City Wall. Visit the Great Mosque and enjoy some free time at the bustling Muslim Quarter.
Breakfast

Today you will visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum and be awed by nearly 8,000 clay warriors, chariots and horses. Follow your insider local guide to discover their unique facial expressions, hairstyles and uniforms, find out the startling mysteries on the pigments, bronze swords, missing weapons, etc.

Then head back to the downtown and ascend the City Wall, the largest and best-preserved ancient city fortifications. You could walk or cycle on the wall to appreciate the full view or take photos from the best angles.

Continue to visit the Great Mosque, where the architectures demonstrate the perfect combination of Chinese classical and Islamic styles. And stroll at leisure in the bustling bazaar Muslim Quarter to seek out your favor.

Day 6
Xian-Zhangjiajie by Flight
Uncover the mysteries of the Small Wild Goose Pagoda and visit the Xi'an Museum. Discover the Hanyang Tombs. Then fly to wondrous Zhangjiajie.

This morning, you will pay a visit to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which used to be a site to translate Buddhist scriptures in Tang Dynasty, and wonder at this architectural miracle.

Then walk to the Xi'an Museum to uncover this ancient capital that witnessed the evolution of 13 dynasties.

On your way to the airport, call at the Hanyang Tombs (Hanyangling Mausoleum). When you ramble along the glass walkways, you will be stunned by what is underneath your foot -- a huge miniature world full of terra-cotta ministers, maids, concubines, animals and livestock.

Afterwards, fly to Zhangjiajie, known for its miraculous lofty peaks shrouded in mist.

Day 7
Zhangjiajie
Soak up the magnificent scenery of Hallelujah Mountain, Tianzi Mountain and challenge the Bailong Elevator in Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Savor the "painting scroll" of the Ten Mile Gallery.
Breakfast

Today, you will be transfered to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and immerse in the breathtaking beauty of this World Geopark.

Upon arrival, you will first take a shuttle bus to the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area and get ready to challenge the Bailong Elevator. With the lift soaring into the sky along the cliff, you will be extremely thrilled by the excitement and incredible scenery passing by.

Continue your hike to discover the Hallelujah Mountain, the original inspiration of Avatar's suspending mountains.

Then transfer to Tianzi Mountain and reach the top by a cable car to savor the boundless rock pinnacles in countless bizarre shapes.

At last, enjoy a round-trip small train along the huge "painting scroll" Ten Mile Gallery to discover the spots like Herb-picking Geezer, Growling Tiger and other wonders created by nature.

Day 8
Zhangjiajie-Shanghai by Flight
Marvel at the Tianmen Cave and challenge the breathtaking Skywalk at Tianmen Mountain. Fly to Shanghai.
Breakfast

After arriving at Tianmen Mountain (Heaven's Gate) by a soul-stirring cable car, hold your breath to challenge the glass Skywalk, under which is the bottomless chasm.

Then take the trans-mountain escalator down to the Tianmen Cave and be fascinated by this "celestial door" that is big enough for a jet to fly through. You could challenge the 999 steps to get down on foot or take the escalator (optional).

Then return by shuttle bus and marvel at the graceful 99 curves around the hillside.

In the evening, you are escorted to the airport for a flight to Shanghai.

Day 9
Shanghai
Roam in the Yu Garden, Nanjing Road and the Bund. Overlook the megacity atop the Shanghai World Financial Center. Stroll at Xintiandi and visit the Jade Buddha Temple.
Breakfast

In the morning, take a refreshing morning excursion to the elaborate Yu Garden to discover the delicate halls and chambers, and learn the ancient living philosophy and artistic taste.

After walking through the Nanjing Road of hustle and bustle, you will be absorbed in the old Shanghai fantasy while marveling at the "World Architecture Museum" along the Bund.

Then get a panoramic scenery of the modern metropolis atop the Shanghai World Financial Center.

And shuttle around Xintiandi to take in the constructions with a mixed style of the orient and the west.

At last, slow down your pace in the Jade Buddha Temple, which houses the Reclining Jade Buddha statue brought from Burma in the late 19th century.
