Hike through ethnic villages and rice terraced fields from Jinkeng to Ping'an. Observe the distinctive stilted buildings that are interspersed among the terraced rice fields and uplands, which stand tall as hills and stretch as far as you can see. Every year, the scenery of the Longji Terraced Fields (Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces) varies greatly with the seasons. Admire the graceful 'ribbons' that spiral up the hills and have a sense of rhythmic beauty. Appreciate the famous sights of 'Seven Stars Surrounding the Moon Rice Terrace' and 'Nine Dragons and Five Tigers Rice Terrace' along the way.

Enjoy the refreshing air and charming vista as you walk from Ping'an to the Old Zhuang Village. Roam about in the village, where the Zhuang people still keep their primitive constructions and lifestyle. Observe the well-preserved brick-and-wooden houses, the handmade folk dresses, exquisite articles, et. Come across hospitable villagers who may sing folk songs, dance or busy with their chores. Your local insider tour guide will share with you fascinating stories about the local history and culture.

Head to Reed Flute Cave, the palace of natural arts. Marvel at the myriad of monstrous stalagmites, stalactites, etc. They are brilliantly illuminated and form greatly different shapes like cypresses, dragons, pagodas, glazed palace lanterns, etc. Draw on your imagination to observe them when you explore into this fairyland. And try to quest from the walls for the ancient travel notes that have been existing since as early as 1,000 years ago.

After the exploration, travel to Elephant Trunk Hill, noted as the symbol of Guilin landscape. You can see it looks like a huge, vivid elephant wearing a green shawl on its back; and its long nose is dipped into the limpid water. Watch the big hole between the nose and the body, and you'll find it's like a moon floating on the river.

Then move to Daxu Ancient Town, which traces back to 200 AD. Walking along the alleys that are paved by blue flagstones and surrounded by wood-and-brick structured old buildings, you may feel like strolling in an ancient town. Most of the houses have been preserved from the Ming and the Qing dynasties (1368-1912). Try to discover old manual workshops, herbal clinics, barbershops, etc. Taste featured food and rice wine if you like. Encounter natives and get to know their customs and recreational activities. After the joyful tour, return to your hotel in Guilin.

Start the gorgeous cruise along the Li River, a beautiful jade green ribbon that wriggle among countless karst hills. Immerse yourself in this immensely long 'Chinese painting scroll': on the limpid canvas are shown playing fishes, white clouds, various reflections of the hills looking like green screens, camels, horses, bamboo shoots, graceful ladies, etc. Give rein to your imagination to observe these vivid views passing you by. Along the way, you may come across a herd of buffalo frolic enjoying their leisure time, or fishermen toiling with their cormorants. The journey lasts about 4 hours until you get to Yangshuo.

Bike around the rural villages and indulge yourself in the soft wind, misty hill clusters, vast green fields, traditional dwellings, etc. You will get relaxed in this pure, primeval and idyllic beauty.

Night activity: 'Impression of Liu Sanjie' is a good option for entertainment. Learn the stories of Liu Sanjie from the massive live-action performance with hills and the sky as its background, and Li River as its stage.

Your exciting journey comes to an end, and you are escorted to Guilin airport or railway station for your departure.
