Follow your guide to Reed Flute Cave -- the palace of natural arts. It is a wonderland full of brilliantly illuminated monstrous stalagmites, stalactites, and so on. They form greatly different shapes: cypresses, dragons, pagodas, glazed palace lanterns, etc. Draw on your imagination to observe them. On some parts of the walls are shown ancient calligraphic travel notes that have been existing as early as 1,000 years ago. Try to seek them out when you probe into this fairyland.

After the exploration, head to Elephant Trunk Hill, noted as the symbol of Guilin landscape. The hill looks like a huge, vivid elephant wearing a green shawl on its back; and its long nose is dipped into the limpid water. You can also find a big hole between the nose and the body, just like a moon floating on the river. Enjoy your free time appreciating this nature's masterpiece.

Travel to Daxu Ancient Town, which traces back to 200 AD and had grown into a mature gathering center of merchants, trading houses, guild halls, etc in the Ming and the Qing dynasties (1368 - 1912). Stroll along the alleys paved by blue flagstones or cobblestones. Observe the ancient buildings made of bricks and wood. Try to discover old workshops of articles, traditional Chinese medical clinics, etc. Taste featured snacks and rice wine if you like. Encounter natives and learn their customs and recreational activities. After the joyful tour, move back to your hotel.

Board a ship for the Li River cruise. The jade green river snakes among countless karst hills, which show various shapes, like horses standing stiff-backed, or graceful ladies in a bathing pool, etc. Indulge yourself in this long Chinese painting scroll. Along the way, you may also come across a herd of buffalo frolic enjoying their leisure time, or fishermen toiling with their cormorants. The journey lasts about 4 hours until you get to Yangshuo.

Then disembark and bike around the rural villages of Yangshuo. Enjoy the fresh air, bird calls, misty hill clusters, traditional dwellings, various plants and flowers, etc. You will get relaxed after this tranquil, leisure time. After the journey, you are escorted to your hotel in Guilin.

Night activity: If you are still energetic, 'Impression of Liu Sanjie' is a good option for entertainment. Directed by Zhang Yimou, the director of Beijing Olympics opening ceremony, it is a live-action performance with hills and the sky as its background, and Li River as its stage.

Today starts with an exciting cooking class. Go to a market to purchase vegetables, meat and other ingredients required. When everything is ready, learn from your chef to cook several Chinese cuisines. Then taste them and exchange your tips with others. This firsthand experience helps you enrich your knowledge of Chinese culture. The activity lasts about 4 hours.

Then enjoy the Yulong River Bamboo Rafting. As a tributary of Li River, Yulong River is known for its primeval, pure natural landscape. Sitting on a bamboo raft that floats slowly on the river, you are so close to this nature of poetic beauty. Touch the cool and refreshing water; watch fishes roaming about, lush trees swaying with soft breezes, ancient bridges in different shapes; and look far for the sight of vast green fields, villages, boundless mountains, etc. Afterwards, have a good rest at night in your hotel.

Your wonderful trip ends, and you are escorted to Guilin airport or railway station for your departure.
