Welcome to Beijing! Upon landing at the Capital Airport, you will be met by your local tour guide and driver, and then be escorted to your hotel in Beijing downtown by a comfortable private vehicle. The rest of the day would be left to you for recovery from jetlag. If you want to visit the neighborhood a bit on your own, our guide will be glad to give you some advice and tips. 

After breakfast, start your Beijing tour from the iconic Tiananmen Square lying in the central heart of the city. After taking memorable pictures, you can stroll through the gate of the Tiananmen Tower to venture into the Forbidden City. Served as home of 24 emperors for over 500 years, it is a massive traditional Chinese palace complex housing over 9,000 rooms. Roaming through various doorways, you have a chance to see how people of different hierarchies live in the palace. 

Afterwards, you will have a 2.5-hour land transfer to the Gubei Water Town nestled at the foot of Simatai Great Wall. It is an enchanting Southern China-style ancient town surrounded by a lake. You can have a leisurely self-guide tour to explore the rows of old-fashioned folk houses, quaint quartzite streets and narrow hutong alleyways. 

After night falls, head for the Simatai. Lit up all along the mountain ridge, it is the only section of the Great Wall available for visit at night. Your guide will lead you to take the cable car up to the wall, and you still have chance to hike a bit to cover several watchtowers. On the top, you will gain a mesmerizing night view of the Gubei Water Town. 

Note: Gubei Water Town boasts a cluster of natural hot springs. You can enjoy a soothing hot spring bath, and the expense is included in the tour price.

Get up early in the morning for an excursion to another section of the Great Wall, Jinshanling Great Wall. It is one of the best preserved and most dangerous sections of the wall adjoining Simatai and Gubeikou. Pace yourself to take in the impressive architecture, intricate brickwork and astonishing landscapes at Jinshanling Great Wall, the most beautiful part of the Great Wall.

After descending the wall, board your private vehicle for a ride back to downtown Beijing, and then walk into the serene stunner of Beijing, the Summer Palace. It was a lavish lakeside retreat of imperial families, and now it is a gorgeous park with pavilions, towers, bridges, corridors and even a marble boat. You can make the most of the park either by walking or by boating. At last, you will be chauffeured to your hotel for a good rest.

After breakfast, you will board your private van to visit the Temple of Heaven, a must-see for all fist timers to Beijing. Built in Yongle Reign of Ming Dynasty, the temple used to be a ritual site for emperors to praying for longevity, prosperity and harvest of their people. At the surrounding area, you may also encounter many local seniors doing morning exercise of swords, Tai Chi and diabolo. 

Afterwards, your guide and driver will see you off at the airport for your onward flight.
