Itinerary Traveled:14 Days Guilin, Yangshuo, Lijiang, Dali, Kunming, Kaili and Guiyang
We really much enjoyed our days in Guilin. Marco, our tour guide in Guilin, gave us a lot of good suggestions on what to do on that evening after arriving, about walking and food options nearby.
Our hotel in Guilin city was very conveniently located with spots. There is a lake right in front of our hotel, and it was quite gorgeous for a walk. The landmark of two pagodas, the golden and silver, around the lake was incredibly esthetical when they were lit-up at night.
Another great characteristic about our hotel location is the nearby pedestrian street with foods of all kinds. You could not only have Guilin local food there, but also the foods from United States and whatever you want. The street also has a lot of souvenir stores and clothing shops. Thus the hotel is very convenient for any tourists from all over the world.
After that, we took a Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, and I would say that the Li River cruise was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide Marco was able to tell us all the history or all the popular sights along the river including the Nine-Horse Mural Hill. And we were all able to identify those horses.
Then we had a biking trip across the farmlands and places really out of the way in Yangshuo, and that was our favorite part of the tour because we could also see the way locals live their daily life. During the biking, the guide Marco made a special gift for me. It was a garland, and it was greatly appreciated. Afterwards, we took a bamboo raft along the Dragon River, and that was very exciting and relaxing. Our boat driver was willing to give my son his sticks to row the boat along the river, and he was bat at it, but it was very fun for us to watch him to fail miserably at it.
It was really an unforgettable trip, and the scenery in Guilin was simply fantastic. Big Thanks! Elysian Tour!
