Itinerary Traveled:3 Trips to Beijing, Xi'an and Zhangjiajie

Gerry's family are learning to paint facial masks at Hutong courtyard!
My wife and I moved to China last August. No Chinese. Our son visited and I booked our first family vacation to Beijing, all on line. Candy was my agent. Being new to China I had a lot of issues dealing with getting my train tickets, paying for stuff with my phone, etc.…. You name it and it was an ‘adventure’. Candy held my hand all the way (via WeChat) and we ended up having an excellent trip, largely thanks to her. In February, five family members visited us and, of course, wanted to see all the sights in Beijing. So I looked Candy up (WeChat). Anyway, she set us up again with another excellent trip, if anything better than the first. Later my wife and I booked a tour to Xi’an through Candy with, again, nothing but excellent results. We will be going to Zhangjiajie (Avatar) sometime before we head back to the states this fall and already have things in motion for that trip. Of course we are working with Candy and Elysian on that one too. I would say that Elysian definitely caters to foreigners that could use a little (lot of?) help getting around in China. If you don’t have a lot of time to flounder around in a very foreign environment you will appreciate how well they take care of the things that can really make a trip here frustrating. And the ‘personal tour’ aspect also means you will be skipping the long lines that are part of seeing most of the major attractions.
