Elysian put together a great two-day tour of Xi’an for my wife and me, including the terra cotta warriors, the city wall, the Shaanxi history museum and the Wild Goose Pagoda. Linda, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and accommodating, and Sara was very helpful in arranging our tour and helping us find our way around. We are pescatarians, which can be difficult in inland China, and we don’t speak Mandarin. When we explained our situation to Sara the night we arrived, she sent us a phrase explaining our dietary restrictions in Chinese characters that we could show to servers so the wouldn’t let us accidentally order something with meat in it. We also had a family emergency while we were in Xi’an, and Sara immediately helped us research new travel plans. These are just a couple examples of how the people at Elysian went above and beyond to help us have a great experience. China is a fascinating, beautiful place, but can also be challenging if you don’t speak the language and aren’t familiar with how things work. Linda and Sara did a great job of making our visit to Xi’an informative, fun and rewarding.
