Itinerary Traveled:8 Days Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai

Toshiko and Evangelos Galanis enjoy their time in Forbidden City!

Our recent trip to amazing country, China, was originally planned for last September. The first time I contacted Elysian, our travel consultant, Candy, was immediately responded to me, and since that day we have been corresponding numerous times by e-mails, and even she made an effort to call me to make sure about our Chinese visa status. When we had to postpone our trip, Candy was kind enough to cancel all the reservations that she thoroughly made for us. She promised that she will revise our trip itinerary when we are ready and she will hold our money. My husband I were so grateful with her kindness and thoughtfulness not to mention but her superior professionalism. We can tell that Candy is truly proud of her great country, China, and its people by showing her courtesy to us.

So, our China trip rescheduled between May 29th and June 5th. We arrived Beijing airport where we were welcomed by our guide, and next day he took us Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, traditional Hutong and took a rickshaw ride into small alleys, then we learned how to pain a facial mask. Then, next day we visited Mutianyu Great Wall! What an amazing site! We loved to visit imperial garden Summer Palace. Last day in Beijing, we visited Temle of Heaven and left for next destination, Xi’an which was my husband’s “ dream city to visit in China” because of the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum! So here we are, saw the mystery of ancient Chinese Dinasty. Well, we can tell you that the Terra-cotta Army is still there to protect the emperor’s afterlife! It’s just an overwhelming sight. If you carefully look at each and every warriors, they are all different figures with different hair styles, uniforms, and different facial expressions!

Our last destination, Shanghai, was a surprise. The view from the Shanghai World Financial Center was very impressive, and you feel young energy of new China. Living with tremendous history behind, China is definitely heading to the new era!

Thank you again Candy and Elysian staff members, and those wonderful guides and drivers who made our China trip so unforgettable. We truly hope to visit China again in the near future with Elysian, of course!
