Breakfast
General: DoubleTree by Hilton Anshun

Today, your exploration of Guizhou starts with a visit to the Qingyan Ancient Town that was originally built in 1378. With a history of about 600 years, the ancient town used to be a military troop station, where a large number of Ming-Qing architectures are in good keep. Ramble along the bluestone lanes to discover the quaint folk residences, temples, city walls and pavilions. The richly painted walls, exquisite wood and stone carvings would catch your eyesight in astonishment. Besides, the ancient village shows its great generosity and tolerance in religions, as you could find Buddhist, Taoist, Catholic and Christian architectures coexisting in harmony.

Then you would be transferred to Tianlong Tunpu, an ancient stone castle village built out of a military fortress in 14th century. The dwellers in the village are descendants of the imperial garrison troops in Ming Dynasty, and they still live a simple and secluded life nearly the same as their ancestors 600 years ago, by inhabiting in the stone houses, wearing traditional costumes and keeping classical hairstyles. From the colorful clothes with exquisite embroidery, you may mistake the locals for ethnic minorities, but indeed they are an old clan of Han majority like the most people you see in China. Another highlight of the village is their proudly preserved Dixi Opera(Ground Opera). People wear colorful masks carved out of wood and long robes to sing and dance to retell some folk tales and legends.

At last, you would be escorted back to Anshun for tonight’s stay.

Day 3
Anshun
Wonder at the Dragon Palace karst cave by a cruise. Get humbled in front of the mighty Huangguoshu Waterfall.
Breakfast

After breakfast, you would be transferred to marvel at a karst wonder, the Dragon Palace (Longgong). It boasts a large limestone cave with a long underground river and multiple karst landscapes. You could take a small boat to cruise into the grotesque and gaudy labyrinth to sight-see the dazzling stalactite and stalagmite formations, gorges, streams as well as thundering underground waterfalls.

Afterwards, you would be chauffeured to Huangguoshu Waterfall, the largest waterfall group in China. Away from several kilometers, you could hear the thunderous roars of the falls. Blessed with typical karst topography, the waterfall enjoys a magnificent fall of 74 meters, with waters rapidly cascading down to the Rhinoceros Pool at the foot, throwing up splashes and sprays up in the air. You could not only gaze at the waterfall from all-round viewing decks, but also venture into the naturally formed Water-Curtain Cave behind Huangguoshu Waterfall to have a close touch of the waterfall, even luckily capture the spectacular rainbow in drizzles. Finally, return to Anshun for a good rest.
