Welcome to China! Upon your arrival, your friendly tour guide holding a welcome sign with your name will greet you and transfer you to the hotel and have a rest to recover from jet lag.

Beijing
Marvel at Tianmen Square and the Forbidden City. Enjoy a rickshaw ride in Hutongs and learn to paint a facial mask of Peking Opera at a traditional courtyard.
Breakfast

Today, you will first stroll at the world's largest square, Tiananmen Square, and then move to the Forbidden City. Covering 720,000 square meters, Forbidden City is one of the world's largest and best preserved ancient wooden palaces consisted of 9999½ rooms. Housing over a million incomparable treasures, it is also known as Palace Museum. Walk through the exquisite palaces, beautiful gardens and indulge in the wondering of the ancient imperial life.

Afterwards, head to the Hutongs and take a rickshaw ride to explore the interwoven alleys rich in history and filled with anecdotes of the common local people. Paint a facial mask in the famous Peking Opera at a traditional courtyard to experience the century old art, which will be both a great memory and a wonderful souvenir to bring home.

Beijing
Hike on the quieter Mutianyu Great Wall. Make a stop at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Then admire the imperial garden of Summer Palace.
Breakfast

This morning, your discovery begins with the Mutianyu Great Wall about 2.5 hours' drive away from downtown, the extant longest and much quieter part of the Great Wall. The dignified military barrier wriggles up the mountains, successfully protected central states from the northern nomad's invasion since it was built. A Round-trip Cable Car is included to save more time for hiking on the Wall in the amazing views.

On the way back to the city, you'll have a stopover at Beijing's new iconic structures of Bird's Nest and Water Cube to appreciate the dramatic and artistic designs.

Then you'll travel to Summer Palace, a rare masterpiece of China's landscape art with the peaceful lakes, verdant hills, brilliant corridors and exquisite pavilions harmoniously arranged.

Day 4
Beijing-Xian by High Speed Train
Visit the Temple of Heaven and take a 4.5-hour highspeed train to Xi'an.

The Temple of Heaven welcomes you in the morning with its spectacle and the lively scene of local life. Emperors used to worship Heaven and pray for good harvest and luck for the next coming year while today it is a popular park for locals to go for morning exercises. You are more than welcome to join the friendly locals if you would like to.

Afterwards, you'll be escorted to the railway station to travel to Xi'an by a 4.5-hour highspeed train ride. You'll be received by your local Xi'an guide and taken to your hotel.

Xian
Appreciate the Terracotta Army and traditional craftsmanship of making tiger head shoes. Learn to make the eyes of the tiger. Afterwards, visit the City Wall and the Great Mosque in the bustling Muslim Quarter.

About one-hour drive leads you to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, the incredible 8,000 full-sized clay soldiers and horses built to guard the tomb of Shihuang Emperor (First Emperor of China who unified the country for the first time in history and established Qin Empire from BC221 to BC207).

Visit a traditional cave dwelling and admire the local craftsmanship of making tiger head shoes. You could learn to make the most important part of the tiger, the eyes!

Then drive back to the city to visit the City Wall, China's most complete and best preserved ancient City Wall. Learn about how the military defensive system protected the city that had never been breached. You could also enjoy an optional bike ride on top of the Wall.

Then proceed to the Muslim Quarter and Great Mosque (representing the perfect combination of Chinese ancient and Islamic architectural styles). Enjoy some free time wandering through this bustling bazaar, where all kinds of featured local snacks and souvenirs will dazzle you.

Tiger Head Shoes Making: Tiger Head Shoes making is gradually disappearing like many other folk craftsmanship in China as younger generations seldom learn it. This visit allows you to see the featured local craftsmanship preserved by the old lady who is still making them, hoping young people could one day pick up the old skill.

Xian-Chongqing by Flight
Visit the hidden gem of Xi'an, the Hanyang Tombs. Then fly to Chongqing to embark on your Yangtze River Cruise.

Today, your Xi'an tour ends at Hanyang Tombs (Hanyangling Mausoleum), built for Emperor Jing of Han Dynasty (BC206-AD220). Walking atop the glass walkways, you will closely observe the miniatures of the naked clay figures, livestock, horses, carriages, grain, etc., which recount the glorious history of grand Han Dynasty.

Then your Xi'an guide will see you off at the airport and you will fly to Chongqing. Upon arrival, your local guide will meet you and take you to board your luxurious ship for the leisurely Yangtze River Cruise.

Day 7
Yangtze River Cruise
Yangtze River Cruise trip. Take a Taichi Class, a shore excursion to Shibaozhai. Attend the Captain's Welcome Party at night. Optional excursion to Fengdu Ghost City.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

With beautiful sceneries along the river banks, join a refreshing Tai Chi Class in the morning to start the beautiful day onboard.

After breakfast, you will discover the mysterious Shibaozhai, a 500-year-old bizarre wooden construction leaning against an isolated mountain along the Yangtze River.

Tonight, you are invited to take part in the Captain's Welcome Party and enjoy the folk music and dance performances.

Optional Excursion: Today's optional onshore excursion takes you to explore the Fengdu Ghost City, said to be where all souls rest after death. Marvel at the vivid scene of trials undergoing in Court of Hell and many vividly carved demon statues built out of rich imagination of ancient Chinese.

Yangtze River Cruise
Sail through the breathtaking Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. Shore excursion to Shennv Stream. In the evening, attend the Captain's Farewell Party. Optional shore excursion to White Emperor City.

When the cruise zigzags through Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, you will have enough time to appreciate the various types of mountains towering into the clouds.

Your guide will also lead you to delve into the Shennv Stream on a smaller boat, to discover the hidden beauty in the primeval valley, or to seek out the elegance of Lesser Three Gorges.

Then you will sail to the longest Xiling Gorge, the most dangerous part celebrated for turbulent water, bizarre rocks and twisted courses.

Tonight, you will attend the Captain's Farewell Party

Optional Excursion: Enjoy this optional onshore excursion to White Emperor City to get the best view of the spectacular Kuimen Gate, entrance of Qutang Gorge.

Yichang-Shanghai by Flight
Disembark the cruise at Maoping Pier. Shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam. Then visit the Binjiang Park and Yichang Museum before flying to Shanghai.

In the morning, you will disembark at Maoping Dock then visit the Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydro-power project and production base of clean energy.

Before flying to Shanghai, you will take a leisurely stroll at the Binjiang Park on the tree-lined lanes and encounter the relaxing local life, followed by a visit to Yichang Museum, housing over 30,000 cultural relics including Changyang man fossils, bronze bells, black pottery, etc.

Afterwards, fly to Shanghai and enjoy the brilliantly illuminated night of this metropolis on the way back to your hotel.

Visit the essence of the megacity to the Yu Garden, Nanjing Road and the Bund. Get a bird's eye view of the city from the top Shanghai World Financial Center. Stroll along Xintiandi and admire Shanghai's traditional Shikumen residence demonstrating life back in 1920s.

Today, you will first go to Yu Garden, an over 400-year-old private garden. Enjoy yourself in this "city forest" and appreciate China's typical southern landscape art.

Then head to Nanjing Road and the Bund, known as the World Architecture Museum with most buildings tracing back to 100-120 years ago.

Get a panoramic view of the glamourous Bund from the top of Shanghai World Financial Center.

Continue your visit to Xintiandi (New World of Shanghai), where traditional Shikumen constructions and advanced modern buildings fuse together. Walk into the traditional Shikument residence named Inside Shanghai, exhibiting life back in 1920s.
